Martin Brunelli is another new signing to Elektek. He has come to us with a great two Track EP called 10cc EP. Slow, deep minimal music for the dark rooms or cool after-hours!

Opening track 10cc is a deep low-slung Techno track with nice synth stabs. The funk driven bass drives it along nicely until the break. Then the drums get more jacking giving it a more uplifting feel.

Track two is called Sawer, another deep groover. The bass again is deep, synths are cool and this time he opts for vocal snippets to bring this track to life. Again, this will go down in the darkest rooms, coolest after-hours or the slickest deep house floors.

Remix duties fall to Bob Swans and Mynude for the title track. Bob does his thing, adding a really nice feel to it keeping the main synth but adds an extra synth sound which gels nicely. Works it well and pushes it into front room dance floor territory.

Mynude take it to Minimal Techno territory like they now best. Stripping it right back and tastefully taking the low slung groover and sculpting a dark driving techno track aimed at the peak time dance floor!

On remix duties for Sawer is the well known Elektek Techno man, Nikkolas Research. If you are a fan of Nikkolas' sound, then you will know what to expect. He drop kicks the original into Techno/House territory. Adding a new kick and works the original sounds adding his well known touch, like he knows best.

Two great original tracks as you expect from Elektek, with three great remixes giving something for everyone!

New signing, Nurde, sent us his three track EP and we knew it was going to go down well. Favourite track was 'She Said' but if you ask us all three tracks are cool as...and Tom Hades and Mynude's remix of the title track 'Flash' are techno stormers.

Yes you are right, another great signing by Elektek. This guy has a few releases under his belt and has brought to us a great three tracker under his new guise 'Nurde'. The EP is called 'Flash EP', three awesome deep techno tracks with two great remixes of the title track from Mynude and the man who is Tom Hades!

Starting with the opening and title track to the EP, Flash. Great bassline drives this track right from the start, then it drops. Nice tight percussion carries it until the cool synths are added to what can only be described as deep minimal bliss.

Mynude take the track and toughen it up slightly. They keep the deepness of the original but adding their own sparkle to the track. They seem to keep the same groove of the track but at the same time put their own mad twist on it.

Tom Hades' first remix for the label and going by this, hopefully not his last. He has taken the track and put it not only in techno territory but kicked it right into peak dancefloor destruction time! Stripping it right back and opting for a more punchy techno kick he takes us on a trip of darkness with his great use of effects and only using the elements needed for peak time madness!

Next we have 'She Said' another deep techy track with a kind of 80's electro feel. Don't be put off by this, the vocal sounds amazing and the electro-y techno bass keeps the track grooving along nicely. Add cool piano stabs, sweet percussion and you have it, minimal electro techno blissfulness!

And last but by no means least we have 'Those Nights' with its cool electro wobbly, low-slung bassline and percussion. Then in comes the slick vocal taking about 'Those Nights'!. Like 'She Said', a great track for those dark minimal dancefloors full of smoke or that after-hours party to get everyone grooving along...

Another great new signing to Elektek, we welcome Australia's Ryan Van Blanken with a big smile and open arms.

Ryan brings us a two track EP called Untitled EP. This is oozing with deepness showing you, once again, the deeper side to Elektek Recordings.

The opening track is Untitled Render, expect deep chords with a grooving bassline which sits under the track carrying it along nicely. The live drum sounds make this track slightly different to what you would normally expect from Elektek but we couldn't resist. Expect dreamy deep tech house.

On the remix duties we have the one and only Saytek, this guys knows how to move a dancefloor with his signature Live sets. He takes the opening track to another level, adding tribal goodness and sparkling cymbals giving it an overall more upbeat techy feel.

Next up is our man, Nikkolas Research. Nikkolas takes this already cool track and makes it slightly more up beat again. He adds a more low slung sub bass groove but still giving it, maybe, a more deep techno-y feel.

Track two, IS-A-WAIR is another cool, deep tech house track. Low slung bass with cool chord stabs and live drum sounds. The dubby vocal swings in and out of the track along with nice dubby FX making this track one for the deep and tech heads alike...

On remix duty for this once again is Nikkolas. He again takes it more towards the techno side of tech house without taking away the subtle and greatness of the original track. Concentrating on using the vocal snippet, adding effects to twist it up slightly to create a cool subtly more upbeat version of the original.

These guys are really on form at the moment, with a string of releases under their belts this year, you know they are ones to look out for and we welcome them as always, with open arms.

A three tracker made for dark, smokey dancefloors. The opening track, Turn On, delves into the darker side of Techno. Deep, Dark and Driving Minimal Techno with enough kick and bass to destroy any dance floor. Add a building spooky but awesome synth and you have it. Once the track drops for the first time you know you've got a dancefloor destroyer on your hands.

Next you have Tune In, another belter. Starts of techy then the bass comes in. The track gradually gets darker and darker. The percussion takes you on a journey, weaving its self round your brain until you finally hear the track drop and you have it, dancefloor desruction!

Last but by no means least you have Drop Out, subby kick drum with clicks piercing through the track, along with sharp hats, nice percussive hits and big drops, another killer track.

Laurie also adds his signature sound whilst taking it to new funkier level, just bliss. D'FunK and Nikkolas add their touches making it more for the techno dace floors. Nikkolas strips it right back keeping the cool glitchy elements and D'FunK adds some extra percussion and sounds and a more straight forward techno bass line for the heads down effect.

Once again Elektek delivers a nice deep tech house and techno remix pack for all you tech heads. Enjoy.

Brighton based Elektek Recordings are set to release their latest EP from label owner D’Funk with a host of excellent remixes....

Elektek Recordings having been releasing consistently quality house and techno over the last couple of years gaining support from A-list Djs such as Stacey Pullen, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier & Dubfire. The Manchester born and now Brighton based imprint has a roster of artists who remain faithful to the label and it’s vision and none more so (not surprisingly) than label owner D’Funk. Following up his recent well received ‘It Happens Remixes EP’ from last years 'Times Ahead EP' he now returns with the rolling techno of ‘Stranger’.

D’Funk began his musical career in Spain originally, where he honed his DJ skills through the early noughties before moving back to the UK in 2005 to focus on studying music production and developing his studio skills. Since the launch of his label Elektek Recordings and Elektek LIVE club nights in 2007, he has been building momentum ever since.

This latest release kicks off with the original of ‘Stranger’, a deep, brooding slice of techno with a twisted, intense edge. The track is build round an undulating bassline, tight percussion and dark, discordant sythn lines and is bound to find favour with techno and tech house DJs alike.

There are 4 remixes on offer kicking off with Nikkolas Research’s reinterpretation, which takes things into the realms of dark and tense techno in superb style. Next comes Chris Firenze’s version that strips things back and provides a bumpin and jackin mix that has a superb old school techno flavour, simple, uncluttered and deadly effective. The penultimate remix comes from veteran DJ/producer Laurie Laptop who has been on the scene since the late 80’s, here he distils his experience into a hypnotic and atmospheric mix that provides an entrancing alternative to the original. Finally we have PJC Project & Gaz Donning who pull out all the stops with their techno/house fusion mix that is certain have the floor moving wherever it is dropped.

‘Stranger’ is a great single with a broad remix package that perfectly reflects this exciting labels musical ethos, enjoy!

D'FunK owner of Elektek Recordings, a House and Techno label based in Brighton. The basics that build Stranger are it's original, undulating and dark bassline with an intentional discordant synth. Then the track comes together and lifts it up.

Nikkolas’ remix works with the usual tricks of the Techno league. Pushing the controls, as it becomes even darker und meaner. Nice and clean.

Chris Firenze jack’s it up perfectly and gives the original a new House direction.

Laurie Laptop takes a lot out of the Synths and delivers a light and brave performance.

The PJC Project together with Gaz Donning is again nice and clean.
This is also a good remix.

Harvey McKay Biography 2009

Harvey McKay is part of a new school of artists to come out from Glasgow’s thriving underground club-scene. Harvey was first picked up by the Glasgow label Artificial Silence; this was swiftly followed by being signed to infamous label Perc Trax. The track Mono was quickly picked up and supported by Speedy J amongst many others.

Soon there were major players fighting to sign the well known 69 track, this eventually lead to Harvey signing a two album, six single deal with one of the worlds best electronic labels, Soma Quality Recordings.

Since then his career has gone from strength to strength, gaining support from major artists like Stephan Bozin, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Michael Mayer, Luke Slater, Slam, and Green Velvet. Harvey has also been busy remixing some of the best artists and labels from the likes of Gary Beck, Minus, Mihilas Safras, Material Series, Angel Alanis, Klientele and loads more.

Harvey has been busy performing his excellent DJ and live sets at festivals and parties all over the world. Just back from a tour of the US, Harvey performed at the Decibel Festival (Seattle) and has also recently played at the Nuit Blanche Festival in Brussels to a crowd of thousands.

Harvey’s latest track Nightwalker is due out on soma in January and has already gained massive support from Richie Hawtin (being his most played track over the past 2 months and at almost every show).

Also coming up is Harvey’s Disturb the Bird ep on Soma, with remix from Gary Beck, M-nus , as a lead up to his massive album due on soma in December .

With an album and a string of ep’s signed up for the next few months, it is a exciting and busy time for the Glaswegian producer .

Thats right, Elektek have just signed four new artists. To keep bringing you the very best in REAL Techno and Tech House we have invited Laurie laptop (UK), Nikkolas Research (FR), YosTek (IL) and Furilla (IT). These guys are producing some really cool Techno and Tech House at the moment.

Laurie's first release is out on the 28th of September 2009 in major download stores, including Junodownload. He has brought to us a nice selection of tracks for us here at Elektek, Deep Techno, Techno and Tech House and with support from Andrew Grant (Barraca Music/Plastic City) and Bjoern Scheurmann (Fassade Records/Affin/Paso Music) to name but a few...- Check it out NOW!!

Hi there everyone, just a quick one to let you all know that Elektek have started a new night at the well known club VOLKS in Brighton.

We have the coolest club with the sweetest sound system, 12k and two floors playing messy, dubed out, wonky, deep, twisted Dub, Dubstep, Breaks, Tech House, Minimal and Techno and just a stone throw away from Brighton beach - What more do you want!!??

The aim of the night is to showcase Elektek Recordings and Elektek TV's resident DJ's and guests from the UK and the rest of the world.

The first one is on Wednesday 8th July, starting at 10pm and going on till minimum 4am, with drink offers, free to get in before 12am and only £3 after.

If that isn't a reason to get down there then I don't know what is!!

The launch night will be brought to you all by resident Elektek and Elektek TV LIVE DJ's and guests from in and around the UK.

TEK ROOM - Carlo Ribeiro and Dave Dawson (Squelch!), DR909 and D'FunK (GliTcH BitCh)

Yes, Elektek's first party in Brighton and it is FREE. This party has been put together to celebrate its next release from N-D-E and the D'Funks birthday!!

Its going to be held in the Gladstone on Lewes Road, Brighton and will be from 7pm till late.

To help us celebrate we have asked 2 Kilo Mockingbird to come down from London. They are a duo consisting of a DJ and a vocalist playing dubstep. These guys have some cool tunes coming out soon and we are looking forward to them performing live for us...

Also on the night will be D'FunK, playing cool minimal sub bass funk and tech and N-D-E and Vitamin Ian playing the dubbiest of dub and dubstep.

Elektek TV LIVE The new installment to getting our music out Worldwide!!

Yes that's right, Elektek will be broadcasting LIVE sessions all over the world through our web page.

Weekly we will be playing sessions with special guest appearances. The shows will be broadcast through our site with view cam, so you will get to see each artist performing LIVE. Scroll down for the schedule so far.

The cool thing about this is there is NO NEED TO BECOME A MEMBER, no entering e-mails and getting SPAMMED all you have to do is listen. There is a Live Chat Room also, to enter the chat room, click the ENTER CHAT button on the TV, and just put in a chat name. Once in there you will be able to interact with the artist in real time, this means you will be able to ask which tracks are being played, when and where the artist will be playing out next, even give a shout out LIVE to everyone listening!!

Missed a show, no problem...

All shows are recorded LIVE to access these shows click on the MENU BUTTON on the TV and go to VIEW MOVIES there you will see a drop down menu with all the recorded shows!!

Elektek Recordings new website is now up and running. Marbella web design and marketing agency Diseño Ideas, teamed up with the Elektek to create the new style and format for the website.

Maddog DJ (N-D-E) from Elektek and David Hopkins from Marbella's Diseño Ideas, also one of the artists of the independent Manchester based label, decided to have a brain storming design session. After many late nights and early mornings the they finally emerged into the sunlight with a new look for the site. Elektek have confirmed another date at Fuel Cafe Bar in Withington, Manchester. This is a cool little place where we here at Elektek have been made to feel welcome.

Residents D'FunK, La Lunalight and Stealth1 with special guests, will be showcasing live laptop performances serving up cool electronic music LIVE!!

The next BIT DEPTH party is on Sunday September 28th 2008, we have confirmed starting time for around 7pm and we can also announce our special guest BoB SwanS.

BoB Swans is a DJ who plays Vinyl, Cdjs, C90 Cassettes and Ableton Live. He also produces music with Ableton live and various other bits of kit.

BoB has only been in Manchester just over 12 months and has made a good impression on some of its key promoters.

His sets can range from Downtempo to Breakcore, but for this occasion he is going to give us a rare treat of Techno and Eectronica on a Alex Smoke\Tolga Fidan vibe, mixed on Ableton LIVE!!

This should be a good one, make sure you try and make it...
